The Muskoka Community Foundation is please to announce its first call for applications from the Muskoka Environment Fund. A grant from the Muskoka Environment Fund will support a youth representative, between the ages of 14 – 20 and resides in the District of Muskoka, to attend the 2024 Youth Summit for Mother Earth taking place September 13–15, 2024 at the Tawingo Outdoor Centre in Huntsville.
Run for youth by youth, the 2024 Youth Summit for Mother Earth will offer a unique cross-cultural event with opportunities for young Indigenous and non-Indigenous leaders to connect, participate in educational workshops, and take part in a weekend of outdoor fun and learning. The grant covers the hard costs of participating in the summit, including accommodations, meals, speakers, workshops, materials, event coordination, and additional costs associated with reducing barriers for youth participation (e.g., travel).
