Auditions
Auditions are open to all students who will be attending HHS for semester 1 of the 2015/2016 school year (yes grade 8’s you can audition). Here are the steps:
- Fill out the audition information form. (If you are interested in being on stage crew, please fill out the form and make sure to select Backstage for the role)
- May 12 3:30 pm acting auditions start in the HHS music room (107) – information will be shared at the start so please be prompt. We will go over a scene and then have everyone work through the scene.
- May 13 3:30 pm singing auditions (HHS music room on the second floor) – a few songs will be taught to the group then you will sing in groups. If you are interested in a lead role you will need to sing solo.
- May 14 3:30 pm dance auditions (HHS Gym C) – a dance (OMG song) will be taught to everyone, then groups will perform the dance.
We expect attendance at all three rehearsals. If you are too ill to attend a rehearsal then you need to contact Mr. McTavish – [email protected] with the subject: West Side Story audition – please include your name and the audition number you are assigned with your e-mail. We will be updating this page as we finalize our audition plans. Please check back regularly.
Rehearsals
In the past we have had rehearsals after school Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays (3:30-5) and Saturday afternoons. Actors are expected to be at every rehearsal of scenes that they are in. Rehearsals start the first week of school and you are expected to have all lines memorized immediately.
Performances
Nov 18-22 performances at the Algonquin Theatre!
