NCWIT is pleased to announce that the NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing (Award for AiC) is now accepting high school students’ applications from all regions of Canada! Applications are due October 20th, 2022. Help us spread the word to your students!

The Award for AiC honors 9th-12th grade women, genderqueer, and non-binary students for their computing-related achievements and interests, encourages them to pursue their passions in computing and tech, and connects them to a community of 22,000  technologists. NCWIT evaluation research found that receiving the Award for AiC positively impacted the awardees’ self-esteem, increased confidence in their ability to pursue a technology career, and helped awardees feel like part of a computing community.

NCWIT evaluation research also finds that a majority Award for AiC recipients were most influenced to apply by their teacher/educator. Here are some key ways you can support your student’s application today

Furthermore, NCWIT wants to recognize YOU for the incredible support and encouragement you give to all of your students. When you endorse a high school applicant this year, you are then eligible to apply for the Aspirations in Computing (AiC) Educator Award.
