Camp Huronda Maintenance Assistant
Camp Huronda located at 1252 South Waseosa Lake road is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Maintenance Assistant to support our operations and ensure the smooth functioning of our camp facilities. The Maintenance Assistant will be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance duties, including repairs, installations, general upkeep and cleaning of washrooms. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for campers and staff alike.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine inspections of camp facilities, identifying any maintenance or repair needs.
- Perform repairs and maintenance tasks, under supervision of facilities coordinator.
- Carry out regular maintenance of camp grounds, including landscaping, cleaning , and waste management.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations by conducting regular inspections and addressing any issues promptly.
- Maintain an organized inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies needed for maintenance tasks.
- Collaborate with other staff members to coordinate maintenance activities and prioritize tasks.
- Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies in a timely manner.
- Assist in maintaining records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and equipment maintenance schedules.
Requirements:
- 16 years old or older
- Proven experience in general maintenance or a willingness to learn
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repair techniques.
- Basic understanding of landscaping and gardening principles.
- Ability to operate and maintain various tools and equipment used for maintenance tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Ability to handle physical tasks, including lifting heavy objects, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with camp staff and volunteers.
- Flexibility to work weekends, and holidays as needed.
Note: Lunch is provided while on shift, there is a possibility to stay onsite for summer season as well.
