To apply to this National Scholarship students must be planning on attending U of T and be a National Book Award nominee.
For the National Book Award students do not need to be attending U of T(but often are as they are also applying to the National Scholarships. Students must be nominated by HHS for the National Book Award and nominations are due Thursday, October 10, 2024.
Criteria for the National Book Award for those who demonstrate superior academic
performance, original and creative thought, and exceptional extra-curricular achievement in a broad
context, regardless of which post-secondary institution they plan on attending in September 2025. The
nominee must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person, currently in their final year
of secondary school.

Students who have been nominated by their schools as National Book Award recipients may submit applications to the National Scholarship Program.
To be considered for nomination for the National Book Award please let your Guidance counsellor know in Friday October 4, 2024 and include a short paragraph outlining your eligibility and post-secondary plans. We can only nominate 1 Graduating Student. Please check out the link above to and make sure you meet all the criteria.
We will announce the successful HHS nominee by Tuesday Oct 7. 2024
Students who are nominated for the Book Award will be invited to apply for the National Scholarship. An email notification will be sent to your student nominee immediately after submitting your onlinenomination. The email congratulates the student on becoming a Book Award recipient and encourages them to apply for the National Scholarship. First step is to seek a nomination to the National Book Award.
