Simcoe Muskoka Family Connexions

This service offers child and youth mental health services, as well as child protection, family support, adoption, and care services in Simcoe and Muskoka. Phone 1-800-461-4236.

Child Care Fee Subsidy

The District of Muskoka can help with the cost of child care expenses for low to modest income families residing in Muskoka. Community Living Huntsville

This service is for families whose children are 18 months to six years old to support overall development. They provide developmental screenings, home programing, and can help families advocate for children in childcare and school settings. Phone 705-789-4543.

Christians against Poverty provides free debt counselling to local families.

YMCA

YMCA Employment Services offers self-directed, independent job search services. Drop-in services include computers for resume and cover letter preparation, internet access, a resource library, assessment tools, job search workshops, and fax, photocopy, and telephone use for job search. They also offer employment assessment, mentoring and coaching, job matching and placement, as well as possible financial incentives and job.

Ontario Works

This service provides assistance with unemployment, benefits, and financial assistance.

United Way Centraide

Circles Muskoka program supports families living in poverty with resources to thrive. They help unemployed/underemployed and/or people living in isolated communities with employment, job training, social isolation, community navigation, self-esteem and mental health.

Salvation Army Huntsville

This program provides emergency assistance for food, spiritual counseling, shelter, donations to assist celebrating Christmas, summer camps, and other on a case-by-case basis.

The Table Soup Kitchen

A local organization that provides food and shelter assistance including cooking classes, men’s hostel, soup kitchen, food bank, clothing and household goods, and other assistance.

Manna Food Bank

This food resource is a Bracebridge-based food bank run by volunteers supporting those in need in the Muskoka community.

Food 4 Kids

Food 4 Kids provides packages of healthy food for children aged 4-13 with limited or no access to food each weekend.Click HERE for more information.

Healthy Smiles Ontario

Healthy Smiles Ontario is a program for kids who do not have access to any form of dental coverage.

McConnell Foundation of Muskoka

The McConnell Foundation of Muskoka assists people who require financial assistance to pay for eyeglasses, assistive devices, dentures and dental work.

Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital – Perinatal Mood Disorders Program

This service connects families, primary care providers, and community agencies/organizations to support families around family planning and resources around pregnancy focusing on mental health concerns, specifically with depression and anxiety. Phone 705-325-2201 extension 3122.

Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit

This service provides health services to support individuals and families, including topics of new babies, the developing child, parenting, immunization, dental health and more. Phone 1-877-721-7520.

Muskoka Algonquin Health Care

This website can direct you to a list of local health clinics, as well as to determine when to seek medical or emergency medical services including virtual care services.

YMCA Immigrant Services ensures eligible newcomers to Canada receive appropriate English language training and settlement services, including assessment of needs, orientation, information and referral, and labour market information in order to feel welcomed in the community and to participate socially, culturally and economically.

Children’s Foundation of Muskoka

This organization provides assistance towards recreational, cultural, medical, and emotional needs of children in Muskoka. They can also assist in providing basic necessities including bedding and clothing. Phone 705-641-9455.

YWCA

Canadian Tire Jumpstart

Canadian Tire Jumpstart provides financial assistance to help kids participate in organized sport and recreation such as hockey, dance, soccer, swimming, etc. National in scope, but local in focus, Canadian Tire Jumpstart works through a network of community partners committed to helping kids get active.

Community Living

Community Living Huntsville’s Family Support program is a resource for families of children and youth with developmental disabilities ages six to 18 years, or 21 if in school. Some things they can assist with include: advocate for your child at their school and within their community, assist with applying for financial resources, support with referrals to other appropriate services, provide information, resources ideas, and assistance developing support plans, assist with accessing respite services, support and inform on transitioning from high school to adulthood.
