Time to “Pay it Forward” – Huntsville Hurricanes House League Basketball

Volunteering with youth sports is a hugely rewarding experience, but also, without volunteers, many youth sports programs would not be able to operate. The Huntsville Hurricanes House League is one such program. High school students can count house league helping as part of their required volunteer hours. You don’t have to be a basketball expert to be helpful! They provide training and support.

Please consider volunteering this year. They need your support. You may be limited to certain times and that is okay. They appreciate any time you have, and more importantly, the kids appreciate your time. Visit the Huntsville Hurricanes House League website for the schedule.

Please contact them at [email protected] to let them know your availability or ask any questions.

TLDSB system-wide closure update – April 2, 2025

The weather we’ve been presented with this year has been challenging for all of us and we appreciate your partnership in understanding these unique circumstances. Some areas within Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB) are still without power and are dealing with the aftermath of the storm, such as power/internet outages, downed trees, and hazardous conditions. In addition, there are freezing rain warnings starting tomorrow morning. In the interest of student and staff safety, we have made the decision to keep schools (including the Virtual Learning Centre) and child care centres within schools closed to students and staff tomorrow, Wednesday, April 2.

Facility Services staff, Technology Services staff, and school principals are continuing to monitor the conditions at each school. We will communicate about the status of schools and child care centres tomorrow afternoon for Thursday.
