May 5, 2023: HUNTSVILLE LAGOONS CAMPGROUND is looking for both volunteers and staff:
We manage a beautiful campground in Huntsville, which sadly was recently devastated by the flooding of the Big East River. The entire lower part of our park was under water, and we have been left with a massive clean-up operation.
We opened on Monday, May 1st, but have had to delay many of our campers from arriving. Sadly, we are very short staffed too.
Generally, we need help in all clean-up operations and preparing the campground for our visitors.
This includes, but is not limited to, help with moving picnic tables, making sure the firepits are clean and neat and back on each site, raking the sites and clearing all the trees which have fallen, leaf blowing. This may include some heavy lifting if the candidates can manage this, but not all tasks require this. This is all outside manual work. We would be exceptionally grateful for any help which could be offered. As we need ground staff for the season, maybe this will also appeal to one of your students. More depending on what hours can be offered.
